Choose the Correct Routt Office
Routt County uses separate sources for current jail custody, police or sheriff reports, court outcomes, and later correctional custody. The Routt County Detention Center is the central booking site for county agencies, but it has no public online roster or booking feed. A telephone custody check, VINE notice, written records request, and court file each answer a different question.

The detention operation runs 24 hours.
Records may be withheld or redacted under the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. ยงยง 24-72-301 through 309. The RCSO form does not promise a booking photo. Name the existing report, booking record, or specific image sought, ask whether it is releasable, and confirm the fee and response estimate before paying.
- For a booking record or photo request, use the Routt County booking-record path, then contact the agency that created the requested material.
- For current local custody, call the detention center. Use VINE for participating custody-change alerts, not as a photo archive.
- For a filed charge, hearing, order, or disposition, contact Routt County Combined Court at 1955 Shield Drive, Unit 200, 970-879-5020, or routtclerk@judicial.state.co.us.
- For warrant questions affecting a person, use counsel and the court. The Sheriff's Most Wanted page explains the verified local route because no public county warrant portal exists.
- For a person sentenced to Colorado state corrections, use the Colorado Department of Corrections offender search. It is not a county jail lookup.
- For federal prison custody, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. For qualifying civil immigration custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator.
- For police-created records, contact Steamboat Springs Police Records or Hayden Police as appropriate. Oak Creek no longer operates a police department, so confirm the current custodian with the town or RCSO.
